كتب : سفير السلام العالمي / المهندس حسن الوهداني - في لحظة استثنائية من التوتر الإقليمي والارتباك الدولي، جاء خطاب جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني أمام البرلمان الأوروبي في مدينة ستراسبورغ الفرنسية ليشكل محطة فارقة في الجهد الدبلوماسي الأردني، ورسالة واضحة للعالم بأن الصمت لم يعد خيارًا، وأن إشعال الحروب لا يمكن أن يكون طريقًا لتحقيق الأمن أو السلام.

جلالة الملك لم يكتف بعرض مواقف الأردن، بل قدّم خطابًا أخلاقيًا سياسيًا متماسكًا، وضع من خلاله المجتمع الدولي أمام مسؤولياته في وجه تصعيد غير مسبوق في المنطقة، سواء ما يجري في قطاع غزة أو الهجمات المتبادلة بين إسرائيل وإيران.

يكتسب الخطاب الملكي أهمية كبرى بالنظر إلى توقيته ومكانه ومضمونه. ففي ظل تصاعد المواجهة بين إيران وإسرائيل، واستمرار العدوان على غزة، يصبح الخطاب الأردني بمثابة صوت عقل في مشهد تتسيده الانفعالات والمصالح الضيقة.

المكان أيضًا ليس عابرًا، فالبرلمان الأوروبي يمثل إحدى أهم المؤسسات التشريعية والسياسية في أوروبا، ويعكس المزاج العام لمواقف القارة العجوز، التي لطالما شكلت طرفًا مهمًا في ملفات المنطقة. واختيار جلالته لهذا المنبر يحمل دلالة على رغبة الأردن في إيصال الرسالة إلى صناع القرار الأوروبيين من قلب مؤسساتهم، لا عبر وسطاء أو بيانات.

في الوقت الذي تحاول فيه أطراف إقليمية ودولية صرف الانتباه عن المأساة المستمرة في غزة، شدد الملك على ضرورة إبقاء هذه القضية في مركز الاهتمام العالمي. وأعاد التذكير بأن ما يجري هناك ليس مجرد "عملية عسكرية" بل مأساة إنسانية ممنهجة، تستهدف المدنيين من خلال القتل والتجويع وتدمير الحياة.

ولم يغب البعد الأخلاقي عن خطاب جلالته، حيث لفت الانتباه إلى أن تجويع الشعوب واستباحة كرامتها لا يمكن أن يقود إلى أمن، بل إلى مزيد من الفوضى والدمار. وهو بذلك يدق ناقوس الخطر من أن استمرار الكيل بمكيالين في التعامل مع حقوق الإنسان والقانون الدولي سيفقد العالم البوصلة الأخلاقية التي تشكل أساس الاستقرار والسلام.

الخطاب الملكي لم يغفل التوتر المتصاعد بين إسرائيل وإيران، مع ما يحمله من تهديد مباشر لأمن الشرق الأوسط والعالم. فالهجمات المتبادلة بين الطرفين، والتي دخلت مؤخرًا مرحلة غير مسبوقة من العلنية والخطورة، تهدد بتفجير الإقليم بأكمله.

ومع أن الخطاب لم ينحَ منحى الانحياز لأي طرف، إلا أنه كان واضحًا في الدعوة إلى ضبط النفس، والحذر من الانزلاق إلى حرب إقليمية مفتوحة ستكون كلفتها باهظة على الجميع. الأردن، الذي عانى تاريخيًا من تبعات الصراعات المحيطة، يعيد اليوم التأكيد على أن السلام لا يُصنع من فوهات البنادق، بل من خلال الحوار، والعدالة، والاعتراف المتبادل بالحقوق.

من أبرز ما جاء في خطاب جلالة الملك كان التحذير من تراجع القيم والمبادئ التي شكلت أساس النظام العالمي الحديث. أوروبا، التي تجاوزت ويلات الحربين العالميتين وأسست نموذجًا للتكامل والسلام، مطالَبة اليوم بعدم الانجرار خلف ازدواجية المعايير أو تغليب المصالح الآنية على القيم الإنسانية.

الملك دعا الأوروبيين إلى استخلاص العبر من الماضي، لا الهروب منه، والعمل على بناء عصر جديد يرتكز إلى العدالة والمساواة، بدلًا من الانخراط في صراعات تستنزف الطاقات وتخلق أجيالًا جديدة من الكراهية والتطرّف.

خطاب الملك تضمن رسالة حاسمة: محاولة إلغاء الشعب الفلسطيني هي وهم، والقضية لن تختفي. فبناء المستوطنات، ومحاولات التهجير، والحصار، والضغوط السياسية، لن تنجح في طمس الحقوق التاريخية للشعب الفلسطيني.

السلام العادل والشامل، الذي يستند إلى قرارات الشرعية الدولية، هو الطريق الوحيد للخروج من النفق. أما القوة، فستولّد قوة مضادة، والتطرف سيقابله مزيد من التطرّف، وسنبقى ندور في حلقة من العنف ما لم يتم الاعتراف بجذور الأزمة وحقوق أصحاب الأرض.

الخطاب الملكي لم يكن تشخيصًا لحال المنطقة فحسب، بل كان خريطة طريق نحو الخروج من المأزق الحالي. فإما العودة إلى طاولة الحوار والدبلوماسية، وإما الغرق في مواجهات إقليمية مدمرة لن ينجو منها أحد.

وفي ظل ما يراه البعض بوادر توسّع للحرب، تبقى الرسالة الأردنية واضحة: لسنا ساحة للحروب، ولا نقبل أن تُفرض علينا أجندات الآخرين، ومصلحة شعوب المنطقة في السلام العادل لا في المغامرات العسكرية.

كان خطاب جلالة الملك أمام البرلمان الأوروبي بمثابة جرس إنذار مبكر، ونقطة توازن في زمن اللاعقل. الأردن اليوم، رغم التحديات، لا يزال يحاول أن يلعب دوره الأخلاقي والتاريخي كصوت للاتزان في منطقة تتقاذفها النيران. والمسؤولية الآن على المجتمع الدولي – لا سيما أوروبا – أن يستجيب لهذا الصوت، قبل فوات الأوان.

In an exceptional moment of regional tension and global confusion, the speech delivered by His Majesty King Abdullah II before the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, marked a pivotal milestone in Jordanian diplomacy. It sent a clear message to the world: silence is no longer an option, and igniting wars can never be a path to security or peace.

His Majesty did not merely present Jordan's positions—he delivered a coherent moral and political address, placing the international community before its responsibilities in the face of an unprecedented escalation in the region, whether in Gaza or in the escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran.

The significance of the King’s speech lies in its timing, venue, and content. Amid the intensifying confrontation between Iran and Israel and the continued aggression on Gaza, Jordan’s voice emerges as one of reason in a scene dominated by emotions and narrow interests.

The venue itself is highly symbolic. The European Parliament is one of the most important legislative and political institutions in Europe, reflecting the continent’s general stance on global issues. His Majesty’s choice to speak from this platform demonstrates Jordan’s intent to deliver its message directly to European decision-makers—at the heart of their institutions, not through intermediaries or official statements.

At a time when some regional and international actors attempt to divert attention from the ongoing tragedy in Gaza, the King stressed the necessity of keeping this issue at the forefront of global concern. He reminded the world that what is happening is not merely a “military operation,” but a deliberate humanitarian catastrophe targeting civilians through killing, starvation, and the systematic destruction of life.

The moral dimension of His Majesty’s speech was equally powerful. He warned that starving populations and violating their dignity will never lead to security, but rather to more chaos and devastation. In doing so, he rang the alarm bell that continued double standards in dealing with human rights and international law will cause the world to lose its moral compass, the very foundation of stability and peace.

The King also addressed the rising tensions between Israel and Iran, with their direct threat to Middle Eastern and global security. The reciprocal attacks between the two states, now reaching an unprecedented level of exposure and risk, threaten to engulf the entire region in flames.

Although the speech did not take sides, it clearly called for restraint and warned against sliding into an open regional war that would be catastrophically costly for all. Jordan—historically affected by surrounding conflicts—once again affirmed that peace cannot emerge from the barrel of a gun, but rather through dialogue, justice, and mutual recognition of rights.

One of the most striking parts of His Majesty’s address was his warning against the erosion of values and principles that have underpinned the modern world order. Europe, which overcame the horrors of two world wars and built a model of integration and peace, is now called upon not to succumb to double standards or prioritize short-term interests over human values.

The King urged Europeans to learn from the past, not flee from it, and to work toward building a new era rooted in justice and equality, rather than engaging in conflicts that deplete resources and new generations of hatred and extremism.

The King’s message was unequivocal: erasing the Palestinian people is a delusion, and the cause will not disappear. Settlement expansion, forced displacement, blockade, and political pressure will not succeed in erasing the historical rights of the Palestinian people.

A just and comprehensive peace, based on international legitimacy, remains the only way out of this dark tunnel. Force will only breed counterforce, extremism will only fuel more extremism, and the cycle of violence will continue unless the root causes of the crisis and the rights of the indigenous population are addressed.

His Majesty’s speech was not just an assessment of the region’s dire condition—it was a roadmap out of the crisis. Either we return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue, or we plunge into devastating regional confrontations from which no one will emerge unscathed.

As many now see signs of a wider war, Jordan’s message remains clear: we are not a battlefield for others’ wars, nor will we accept the imposition of foreign agendas. The true interest of the region's peoples lies in a just peace, not military adventures.

The King’s address to the European Parliament was an early warning and a call for balance in an age of irrationality. Despite immense challenges, Jordan continues to play its moral and historical role as a voice of reason in a region engulfed by flames. The responsibility now lies with the international community—especially Europe—to heed that voice, before it is too late.
